Thought:
“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.” – Joseph Addison
Speech: Importance of Reading
Good morning everyone,
Today, I am going to speak on a wonderful habit — Reading.
Reading is one of the most powerful and enjoyable activities we can do. It helps us learn new things, improves our language skills, and builds our imagination. When we read books, we travel to different worlds, meet interesting characters, and understand different ideas.
Books are our best friends. They don’t argue, they don’t complain, but they always teach us something valuable. Whether it is a storybook, a comic, or a science magazine — every book has something special to offer.
Reading also makes us better students. It improves our focus, vocabulary, and helps us express our thoughts more clearly. If we make reading a daily habit, we will grow wiser and more creative.
So let us all take a small pledge today — to read at least one page every day. Because the more we read, the more we grow!
Thank you!
